I am continually fascinated how small changes to the system affects the sound. I was always planning to change my platter to the acrylic one, so much so that I had my isolation platform manufactured from acrylic. But the platform was an actually necessary upgrade. And my listening sessions have been impervious to little pounding feet running right by the system which sits on old wood floors. Impervious! Likewise the manufacturer names all the acrylic platters by the same product name so after several phone calls I think I may have purchased one of the last few that were on this continent, that is until the end of summer I am told. Perhaps I viewed the platter as more on the aesthetics side of the fence, but after days of listening the previous platter comes off more warm, and the acrylic more detailed and true to life so to speak. I’m happy, surprised, and continue to be surprised how far this table can be pushed.
