Bob Dylan, “Blood On The Tracks - Test Pressing”. According to the label this is the original New York Version of Blood On The Tracks, a replica of the 1974 test pressing. Before the album was released a small number of test pressings containing the New York version were circulated. These records were soon bootlegged and the alternate history of Blood On The Tracks was born. This album is an exact duplicate of these original test pressings. This was a pretty cool #rsd2019 score. And yeah it’s unsealed, but I guess I’m the sort of fanatic that carefully slits the plastic open only on one side if the sleeve allows and the plastic isn’t too tight. It’s funny each year I look at the overwhelming RSD list, then wonder what the store(s) might actually have on their RSD list, then the day of finally making it up to the register with a huge line behind me, feeling totally pressured to make lightning quick decisions before others get to a copy of this or that. Somehow it’s sort of a rush, a game of chance.
