Nirvana, “Unplugged In New York”

The party was already over, the band was about to break up. Cobain had asked the band to renegotiate the royalties which the band was alright with... until they saw the ask was also retroactive seeking royalties going all the way back to “Nevermind”. #Nirvana had rehearsals for two days for this performance and it has been stated to the press that they were awful. Cobain was suffering from withdrawal and it’s rumored that MTV found a shady doctor to “prescribe” something to help Cobain... well they performed. The set was decorated “like a funeral” and it definitely wasn’t unplugged as Kurt had his fender amp hidden in a monitor box mtv built for him. They also were the only band to do MTV unplugged to do a performance in one take. And what an amazing performance it is. They didn’t want to do the hits so it’s mostly lesser known songs and covers. Definitely a #vinyl album a #audiophile can sink their teeth into. Sadly shortly after this performance Cobain decided to leave this earth. #hifi #stereo #vinylcollection#vinylrecords #recordcollection
