Big Star, “Number 1 Record”

Big Star, “Number 1 Record”. When this album came out, it was super cool and amazing... to the 12 music Reviewers that knew about the album. Ok so maybe more than 12 Critics knew about it and acclaimed it. It is after all an amazing album and an #audiophile grade  #album. When the record was released in the late summer of 1972 it created barely a murmur despite being critically acclaimed, it sold barely 10,000 copies. Stax Records inability to distribute the record and get it into stores basically killed it. U.K. tastes in the late 1970’s revived sales and caused a re-release. This record was like a cool secret for quite some time... and ironically in the States it’s biggest push was from both a track being used as the theme song to the tv show “That 70’s Show” and being named in 2003 Rolling Stone Magazine’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Enjoy! #vinyl #vinylcollection#hifi #bigstar #number1record#turntable
