DJ Shadow, “Endtroducing... 20th Anniversary Endtrospective Edition”. She really gets me! This was my Valentines Day gift. I was totally fooled by the unmarked box the other day. I saw the size and thought... #vinyl but I was so heavy that I decided it wasn’t vinyl. Looks like I was rather wrong... 6LP worth of vinyl and a book. This album in general was pretty special, and it still is today. Note this album is almost entirely made of samples from vinyl records. To the naysayers that say Music like this isn’t #audiophile I present exhibit A: this record. Dj Shadow produced this record over the course of two years using a minimal amount of equipment. This album is truly handcrafted. In the UK this album did rather well as Dj Shadow had a growing fan base. I was going to school over in the UK right before this album came out and in general this type of music was popular and commonplace. In the States when I came back, this record and a few others was like a tipping point... Electronic music and DJ music was still enjoying reckless abandonment in the underground scene. DJ Shadow creates lush floating and hypnotic soundscapes made up of #hiphop#jazz #psychedelic #heavymetal #filmsand interviews. This record is an undeniable masterpiece. And this version you get the original release, then alternate mixes, then the album reimagined. Specially when considering the original release and how it was made, the attention to detail and psychoacoustics is rather remarkable. #djshadow #endtroducing#endtroducing20thanniversary #dj#vinylcollection #record#recordcollection #vinyljunkie#vinylporn #instavinyl #nowplaying#turntable #musicdiscovery#vinyladdict #hifi
